Adisham bungalow is a must see tourist spot, for those who are travelling around Ella. This is a monastery run by Benedictine monks and situated about 4 km far from Haputale, Badulla district, Sri Lanka.
This is a place with a great history which runs back to 1931. The bungalow was built in 1931 by an English aristocrat and planter Sir Thomas Villas. In 1961 it was purchased by the Roman Catholic Church and has been transformed to a monastery along with the time. And now the place is opened for tourists.
Adisham bungalow is surrounded by thick forest and several tea estates. The bungalow has a huge garden and many fruits, crops and colorful and attractive flowers has been planted there. Roses, Orchids and all other beautiful flowers makes the place more lovely and picturesque.

Adisham bungalow is a ideal place to enjoy nature because of its serene and calm environment. And also the misty atmosphere gives it a mysterious look.
Although this bungalow has withstood for long history it is perfectly preserved.
The bungalow is opened for visitors only in weekends, school holidays and public holidays excluding Christmas days an Good Friday. The Adisham bungalow is worth to be visited and I recommend this monastery for travellers around Ella.
