Galle Lighthouse

Galle light house is the oldest light station in Sri Lanka and is situated in Galle Fort, Galle, Sri Lanka.When it comes to the history it runs back to 1848, when the original lighthouse was built. But it was destroyed by fire in 1934. Then the new lighthouse which is existing now, was built in 1939. It is 87 feet high and located about 100 meters away from where the original one was.

                                                                       

       This glamorous tourism spot is well known among tourists who visit Sri Lanka. The Galle Lighthouse always come along with Galle Fort. So it's very popular among tourists to make photos which have the lighthouse on their background and keep it as a souvenir of Galle Fort. Just have a look at following...











        You can have a fabulous panoramic view of the amazing blue ocean on the top of the lighthouse. Flying kites, playing cricket on the beach sand and having a light sea bath in the bathing spot besides the lighthouse are some interesting things to do here. Doesn't it sound fascinating???


         Just imagine of a place that people having evening strolls, seeing gorgeous sunset and the ocean reflects the red sky on the water...!!! believe me...this is an ideal place for all of that!!!
